2021 please be nice!
Like the Powerpuff girls, with some sugar and spice.
Not asking for a lot, nothing too dramatic-
for starters, a lot less deaths would suffice.
I’ve always thought the future is only important
because it has the potential to later become the present.
But for you, I’d give up today and almost all of 2020,
just to get 1/1/21 as my Christmas present.
Now there’s so much festive excitement and all this talk of a vaccine;
during your tenure, any rising rate of covid should be a sin.
Haven’t met you yet but I’m looking forward to making your acquaintance.
I guess it’s time to build the stage and set the scene.
This year…….shots were fired, lads were killed.
More than one fate ended with a fatality.
Old wounds were reopened, previous problems rose again-
we had to find new ways to explain oppression and brutality.
It wasn’t all a waste, I wouldn’t call it all trash.
